How An Affiliate Makes Money Online

So you want to know how an affiliate makes money online?

First let me review what an affiliate program is.  An affiliate program is when a vendor/someone who has a product that they have created, wants to have someone else promote their product in exchange for a commission.

There are hundreds of thousands of affiliate programs out there online that anyone can promote that makes money.  Many people are making a ton of money using affiliate programs.

Some people get involved in affiliate programs with no training and just go out there and try to do it themselves and end up with zero results.  When you sign up for an affiliate program you will be given a link that you can put on a forum signature, social media like facebook or on your own website.

When someone clicks on that link they will be taken to a sales page for that product.  When that person buys the product you get a commission.

I am going to give you some tips to increase the sales for your affiliate products and make sure the product you are promoting makes money.

1. Buy the product – Don’t just get the link and go out an promote it.  Buy the product and try it out.

2. Get some results – Use the product and get some results from it before you start promoting it.  You can sell something much easier if you know it works.

3. Do a screen capture of your results -For example  if you get a plug in for your blog that helps increase traffic to your blog do a before and after screen shot of your traffic rank on the alexa website.

4. Make a video – Once you get some results make a short video and put in that video how to use the product, let them know what your results are.  Show them the results using your screenshots and put them in your video.

5.  Put your link in your description box on You Tube.  Make sure at the end of the video you have a call to action this is very important to make sure this thing makes money.

Tell them to click on the link below to get more information on this product. They click on the link which takes them to a sales page, they buy the product then you and the vendor makes money.

As you can see the difference here is that you have more of a relationship with the customer here.  They hear your voice and see the results.  People want to buy from people not links.  This is the kind of strategy that increases conversions from just a click to a click that makes money.
